Hot Cross Bun French Toast
This three ingredient recipe turns your extra hot cross buns into delicious French toast in a matter of minutes.

Ingredients

Hot cross buns
2
Eggs

Milk
dairy free is also fine

Butter
for frying
Instructions
Slice the buns open and set to one side.
In a mixing bowl beat the eggs and slowly add in the milk.
Turn your frying pan on to a medium to hot heat and add the butter to melt.
Dip the sliced bun into the egg mixture allowing it to sit for ten seconds each side. Note: it will become quite delicate once wet with the mixture.
Lift the soaked bun out and place it directly into the hot pan. Repeat with other pieces until your pan is full.
Cook the buns on each side for a few minutes or until the egg mixture is cooked. You should get a nice brown colour on each side.
Serve your French toast hot cross buns with powdered sugar, fresh fruit and of course maple syrup.
Notes
Gluten-free hot cross buns can be quite fragile so keep this in mind when soaking in the egg mixture.
