Posted: February 11, 2025 Updated: February 11, 2025
New Easter eggs for 2025 have already arrived in stores and there’s a few gluten free ones, woohoo! Easter comes but once a year but it lasts about six months given how early we get these products.
I was really hoping I could wait a few more weeks before producing Easter content but as I sit here drafting this post there’s 99 days until Easter. It seems that regardless of when Easter falls (this year it’s 20 April) we get Easter eggs on the shelves before the marked down Christmas products have been purchased.
It’s a bit exhausting!
Is it still gluten free?
The biggest trouble I have is that Easter eggs have a tendency to change ingredients between years. This can be recipe changes or changes in supplier or manufacturer.
It means that it’s quite difficult to produce articles about products before they arrive in store.
Unfortunately every year we do seem to lose a product or two due to this. Last year most notably was the white chocolate Lindt bunny, which now has a may contain for wheat / gluten.
I spotted it at my local IGA because… I always check! Even if I’m absolutely sure, when I see product I haven’t reviewed that year I will pick it up and look.
I’ve got some great supporters on Facebook and Instagram too who will drop me a message if they notice a change.
New Easter eggs for 2025 that are gluten free
Anyway, you’re here for a quick summary of new eggs and chocolates that are gluten free in 2025. This document is just a supplement to my even bigger gluten free Easter egg guide so make sure you read that.
I’ll also be posting stories and reels on Instagram as well as photos on Facebook. I’ve often got different content so be sure to follow on both.
While you’re at it – please subscribe to my monthly newsletter, you’ll never miss an article again!
Cadbury
My mind is actually a little blown that we’ve got more than one new product from Cadbury. Last year we just got one and it was a rather boring plain egg with chocolate buttons.
This year it is much more interesting!
Pineapple mini eggs
My post about these on Facebook really blew up. Like… huge. I thought it had 300 likes, but I opened my phone and it was 1,400! Now it’s 5,000 so that’s a record.
Anyway, these are delicious! Just like I remember the pineapple square from snack to be. You can see a quick snap I took inside here.
- Cadbury pineapple mini eggs, 118g. Allergens: Milk, soy. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Coconut Rough Bunny
When I posted about Mint Patties no longer having a may contain, a lot of people spoke up to say how much they missed Coconut Rough chocolate by Nestlé. I wonder if this will be a good replacement?
- Cadbury coconut rough Easter bunny, 160g. Allergens: Milk, sulphites, soy. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Dream gift box
I can’t believe this is a new product for 2025, I was almost sure we’d have this already. But I do recall people having a lot of trouble finding coeliac-safe white chocolate in 2024.
- Cadbury Dream gift box, 155g. Allergens: Milk, soy. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Slices raspberry and coconut egg
I think I found this one while going through the ingredients of all the new products on the Cadbury website. Yep, I spend my evenings looking up as much information as I can in advance. 👌
Amazingly it’s gluten free, and it kind of sounds like a raspberry version of the Cherry Ripe easter egg (which is GF and delicious). It’s white choc, milk choc, coconut and raspberry jelly pieces. Sounds pretty epic.
- Cadbury Slices raspberry and coconut Easter egg, 181g. Allergens: Milk, soy. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Coles
We got some great new mini eggs from Coles last year, and luckily a few of those are coming back. But, we’ve also got two new chocolate mini eggs and some non-chocolate options. Bonus, these two are soy free.
Mini eggs
- Popping Candy Milk Chocolate Eggs, 120g. Allergens: Almond, hazelnut, milk. May contain: Cashew, macadamia, pecan, pistachio, walnut, egg, soy.
- Lemon Meringue Milk Chocolate Eggs, 120g. Allergens: Almond, hazelnut, milk. May contain: Egg, soy, tree nuts.

Easter gummy lollies
There’s also two new lolly options with a cute Easter theme.
- Sour carrots, 150g. Allergens: Nil. May contain: Milk, soy.
- Fried eggs and bunnies, 150g. Allergens: Nil. May contain: Milk, soy.

Nestle
By far the biggest win is that we’ve got not one but three new Nestle products in Australia this year that are gluten free. They are all manufactured in Italy (presumably the same facility), much like our extra special mini KitKat bunnies.
So, here’s what we’ve got.
Kit Kat Mini Eggs
I have seen these around for a few years but overseas. So when I was in store looking at new products I thought. Oh hello. Maybe you’re from Europe let’s see.
Luckily my instinct was spot on and these are made in Italy. They are gluten free and we get to enjoy them.
If for whatever reason you can’t find them, there are mini kit bunnies that are gluten-free. It is the very small mini size that comes in a bag, not the small, single KitKat bunnies that are made in Australia.
- KitKat mini eggs, 90g. Allergens: Milk. May contain: Tree nuts.

Smarties Mini Eggs
I think this is the one people are most excited about because Smarties in Australia and in fact around the world are not gluten free.
This is because there’s actual wheat flour in the ingredients for Smarties. It’s been the case for a long time so no coeliac is getting Smarties.
Until now with these mini eggs.
They aren’t a mini egg like you get from Cadbury instead. They’re filled with a milky cream and itty bitty sized Smarties.
- Smarties mini eggs, 81g. Allergens: Milk. May contain: Tree nuts.

Crunch Mini Eggs
Crunch chocolate will be familiar to a few of you but perhaps unfamiliar to a lot of others. You can buy crunch chocolate in Australia in blocks inside the nestle chocolate are crispy rice pieces.
While the ingredients of crunch chocolate do not contain gluten, there is a may contain warning for wheat and gluten on the packet.
So these eggs are great because they do not have wheat ingredients nor do they have a may contain warning.
- Crunch mini eggs, 80g. Allergens: Milk. May contain: Tree nuts.

Sweet William
A new dairy free option – yay! Sweet William are pretty low key on new products so I was surprised to see them pop up in my Instagram feed with a new one for 2025.
Bubblegum flavoured Easter egg
I can’t wrap my head around this, bubblegum flavoured chocolate? What? But you know, this is a boon for children. Kids with dietary requirements are still kids and they should get to experience the weird and wonderful flavours available too.
- Sweet William bubblegum flavoured Easter egg, 140g. Allergens: Nil. May contain: Soy.

That’s it – for now! I’m sure we’ll see more Easter eggs as we get closer to 20 April 2025. You can keep up to date on the latest via my Facebook page, Instagram or monthly newsletter.
