Pana Organic has revamped their Easter Egg Range!

Posted: February 6, 2023 Updated: February 14, 2024

Yesterday I saw a post by Pana Organic announcing their new Easter egg range for 2023. As always the range is gluten free and vegan with one really big change. This year the Pana Organic Easter egg range is fully dairy free. No may contain warnings like previous years!

Scroll down for an in depth look at each of the flavours and their ingredients, including allergens.

I’ve also included where you can buy them but they’ve only just been released so you’ll see more and more as we get closer to Easter.

What’s changed this year in the Pana Organic Easter Egg range?

There are a few major shifts in the Pana Organic range this year. Our old favourite flavours, mylk, dark, salted caramel are out. There doesn’t seem to be an indication that they will be returning.

The shape has also changed, no longer do we have a big egg shape, instead this Easter all the eggs by Pana Organic will be flat. As they noted on their recent Instagram post, this greatly reduces space and packaging.

No doubt this reduces transport costs and therefore lowers the impact on the environment. A guilt free Easter egg? Yes please!

The size is almost the same. Looking back to my 2022 Gluten Free Easter Guide, each of the Pana Organic Easter eggs weighed in at 110g. The new range of eggs are slightly less at 100g.

The price is slightly lower. Looking back to 2022, a Pana Organic Easter egg was about $12 at the supermarket. It was higher at speciality stores sometimes getting up to $13 or $14. I’ve checked the new range and right now they are priced at $10. Hopefully we’ll get a promo price in the lead up to Easter as well!

Golden Comb Easter Egg

Mylk chocolate with chunky pieces of crunchy golden comb. It’s nice we can get this option as it can be a little tricky to find a gluten free honeycomb egg, let alone one that is also vegan and dairy free.

Allergens: Nil. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Macadamia Easter Egg

The only white chocolate in the release is studded with macadamia pieces. A good combination of creamy chocolate and a satisfying crunch. It’s kind of nice as well that given the premium price we’re getting premium nuts.

Allergens: Macadamia. May contain: Peanut, other tree nuts.

Strawberry & Peanut Butter Easter egg

So it’s PB & J but in chocolate, count me in! It starts with a mylk chocolate base then has peanut butter and roasted peanut pieces. There’s strawberry pieces too (perhaps freeze dried?) to give sweet bursts.

Allergens: Peanut. May contain: Tree nuts.

Mint Crunch Easter Egg

Just the one dark chocolate by Pana, but it’s full of crunchy mint pieces. If you’ve read my other Easter posts you’ll know I’m a big fan of mint.

Going by the ingredients the crunch is like a toffee, which has been coloured green using turmeric and spirulina.

Allergens: Nil. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

I wonder if this is similar to a peppermint crisp?

Hot Cross Bun Easter Egg

Speaking to my husband about this flavour I realised how tame the flavour choices are in Australia. In the UK we’d often get weird and wonderful flavours when it came to foods, especially treats like chocolate. So it’s great to see something a little be daring and different! I thought the base was white chocolate but it’s actually a salted caramel chocolate. There are so many spices in this too, not just the regular ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg but also cardamon, clove, star anise and even pepper!

Allergens: Nil. May contain: Peanut, tree nuts.

Where can I buy the Pana Organic Easter Egg flavours?

The range is already out across Australia. For 2024 Pana’s eggs will be available online and from independent grocers (like IGA). Unlike 2023, they won’t be available at Coles and Woolies this year.
